 A New Year

The summer sun begins to fade,

New pencils line the plans we've made.

Hallways hum with steps brand new,

Bright hopes rise as dreams renew.

Backpacks zipped, the morning bright,

Pages waiting, crisp and white.

Friends return with stories told,

Adventures shared, both shy and bold.

A year ahead-unknown, unplanned-

But we will face it hand-in-hand.

With open hearts and minds that grow,

Back to school- READY, SET, GO!
